ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Most of the nearly 300 pictures from which I had negatives made so as to establish a permanent record, and from which the pictures in this book have been selected, were secured mainly about 1956 and 1957. No record was made as to the source, so total acknowledgment is impossible. In part, however, thanks is given to the following as a result of strong memory of their cooperation:

Mrs. William Tice Loring Whitaker
William Mitchell I. D. Jaynes
Percy Owens James Bacon
Oscar West Mrs. E. C. Carpenter
Harold Duff C. E. "Ted" Parker
J. B. Sullivan Knott's Berry Farm
Franklin Sullivan Nelson's Photo Shop

and probably at least 50 others who contributed but must remain nameless.

These same people must also be deeply thanked for their help in giving data on the development of the town in which they played such a prominent part. To that list for this cooperation, thanks must also be given to:

Grady Travis
Caryl Snyder
Ira Mitchell
Mr. and Mrs. John Mitchell

Here, again, thanks must be given to many unknown by name to us who gave bits of data during chance meetings or during the many presentations of the illustrated history talk.

It is extremely important that this picture story be of interest and use to young pupils. For their cooperation in editing the narration for this purpose, thanks is extended to the following officials and teachers:

Dr. William P. Wewer Mrs. Wanda Porter
Dr. R. D. Chamberlain Mrs. Doris Chapman
Dr. Robert Flewelling Mrs. Doris Michael
Mr. James Lennox
